Double Date
‘Double Date’ is set at a typical student party and is structured around an awkwardly flirty conversation between two characters, Woody and “the girl”. What follows is a complex intertwining story of chaos, fights and time travel with Woody’s clone appearing from the future to give “himself” some flirting advice. With fast paced dialogue and punchy sound design this film is heavily inspired by the work of Edgar Wright and Wes Anderson.
The sound design was complex due to the sheer amount of sound effects required to create a lively and animated vibe. All instrumental ‘party tracks’ tracks were written and recorded by myself avoiding unreliable royalty free tracks.
Additionally, on set recording filming in a confined space with large numbers of extras and crew and with a limited shooting window, on-set recording was challenging and a steep learning-curve.
